Synchronized Skating Heads to Sectionals

ROCHESTER, Minn. (2/1/11) – The University of Colorado synchronized skating team will be competing at the Pacific Coast Sectional Championships this weekend, Feb. 4-6.

This is the fifth year of the team’s existence; however they have only been competing in competitions for the last four years. Colorado has won the open-collegiate division all four years.

Currently the team has nine skaters, but they hope to get three more next year so they can compete in the qualifying collegiate division.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can find the CU synchronized skating team practicing at the crack of dawn, as the Buffs hit the CU Rec Center ice at 6:15 a.m.
The Buffs will also be skating in an exhibition on Tuesday Feb. 1 at the Westminster Promenade ice rink.
