VALENCIA, CA (01/22/2012) – The No. 5 University of Colorado Division III men’s ice hockey team fell to No. 1 College of Canyons 6-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Ice Station, in the final day of the teams California road trip.
Matt Conrad and Robert Cates both scored for the Buffaloes. Conrad found the back of the cage twice in the contest.
Alex Puig picked up 30 saves for Colorado. The loss brings the Buffs season record to 15-7.
“This road trip has been a good experience for us,” said defenseman CJ Nizich. “We discovered some key weaknesses as well as strengths.”
The Buffs will return home on Jan. 27 to faceoff against the United States Air Force Academy at 5:15 p.m. at the CU Ice Arena. Admission to all Division III home games is free.
