BOULDER (03/1/12) - The University of Colorado men’s rugby team prepares to take on in-state rival Colorado State University for their first league game of the Division 1 season.
The Buffs have met up with CSU twice in the past and in both meetings have taken down the competition.
“CSU is always a tough opponent and this is a big rivalry so we expect them to come out hard and ready to play,” said Lance King. “As a team we have put in a lot of work in the off season and preseason and feel if we go out and play CU rugby we should have a successful weekend.”
This will be the senior’s last chance to compete against the Rams and hope to end their college rugby careers with a win.
"This match will set the tone for the year for us. Playing in the stadium, in front of our fans and alumni is a great opportunity for the boys to prove they are a contender for the Western Conference crown." said Head Coach Jim Snyder. "It's going to be a heck of a ballgame."
The contest will be held in Glendale, Colo. at Infinity Park on Saturday. The A team will take the field at 1:30 p.m. and the B team will finish off the day at 4 p.m.
Tickets to the game are $6 and can be purchased online at http://www.glendalerugby.com/tickets-and-travel
